I first tried this recipe when off camping with some Scouts. Single pan, minimal washing up, and baked beans! Cant go wrong really.
I dont usually focus too heavily on ensuring we get the five-a-day, but this recipe should cover a couple of days of guilt.
|Tinned Ham||1 medium|
|Maple Syrup||3 tbs|
- Chop the onion and fry in a little oil in a large saucepan until softenned
- Cut the ham into pieces about the size of a sugar cube and add to the onions to fry for a minute
- Add the tin of baked beans plus the tinned tomaotoes to the pan, and allow to simmer for 5 minutes
- Add the maple syrup, and any extra flarourings you fancy. I sometimes use garlic, chilly powder or even some ginger. You can use brown sugar or even honey in place of the maple syrup.
Serve with some fresh bread or noodles
